What is auto-renewal?

Auto-renewal (also known as autorenewal or automatic renewal) is a billing model in which your EOS membership subscription is automatically renewed and paid for by a nominated card at the end of an agreed upon period of time – in the case of the EOS membership, this is yearly and will be taken on the day of your renewal.

How will it work?

To enable auto-renewal click on the toggle button within your membership application or renewal form.

Then enter your card details within the “Credit Card (Stripe)” section below. Please note that if you are renewing your membership card details may be on here. PLEASE NOTE that these card details will ONLY be stored within Stripe which is fully PCI1 Compliant.

For the first year, your payment will be taken immediately once you have submitted the form. For future years, if you have enabled Automatic Renewal, payment for the renewal will be taken on the day of renewal.

Will I be notified of any change to membership fee?

Yes – we will ensure that you are notified of any change to membership fee before any payment has been taken, and you will have the option to cancel your auto-renewal at any time.

How can I change or cancel my auto-renewal

You will be able to cancel your auto-renewal at any time by logging into your membership area and unselecting the Automatic Renewal box.

What happens if my card is out of date/fails?

If we are unsuccessful in processing your card details when auto-renewing, you will receive an email to notify you of this – you will still have the grace period of 1 month to pay your membership fee and re-set up your automatic renewal for the following year.

What happens if I am an undergraduate or postgraduate member?

You can still select automatic renewal as an option – however automatic renewal will only be applicable for the term of your membership in that category. At the end of your period of membership (i.e after 4 years of postgraduate membership), you will need to re-select automatic renewal if you are renewing at a new membership category, such as full or associate membership.
